Why I Started This Blog: Projects, Curiosity, and a Whole Lot of “What Ifs”
This blog wasn’t born from some grand plan. It started because people kept asking me, “How did you make that?” or “Can you show me how you did it?”—and, let’s be honest, I needed a place to remember what I did, too. Some of my best ideas are the ones I forgot to write down.
I’ve always been the type to tinker. I love trying new things, diving into random ideas, and seeing where curiosity takes me—whether it's something I dreamed up myself or something a friend mentioned offhand that I just had to try (with credit, of course). That mix of curiosity, creativity, and helpful chaos is how this blog came to be.
Rooted N Red is where I document the process—what worked, what flopped, and what I’d do differently next time. It's not a tutorial site from an expert (because I’m not one), but a place where experimenting is the norm and learning is part of the fun. If you’re the kind of person who loves making things with your hands, who sees a DIY fail as just a first draft, you’ll feel right at home here.
What kinds of things? A little bit of everything. I make soap (hot and cold process), create salves from herbs I grow, experiment with 3D printing, and spend way too much time on Cricut projects. I'm also into gardening, canning, dehydrating, and finding ways to turn “wouldn’t it be cool if…” into “look what I made!”
If you’re curious, crafty, or just looking for permission to try something new, welcome. You're in good company.
